Yeah, that arc is the absolute lowest point of black sails But they constantly delivered each season some great plots of keri russell or other actresses S1 is generally the season with the worst bits (still amazing but hoo boi some plot things, the sexual violence arc, a lot of sex scenes and gratuitous sexualised nudity, the kinda shitty costumes.) luckily most of it stays in s1 and it really goes uphill from there.
